Avoid Cancer

We all know the general drill when it comes to cancer protection: stop smoking (smoking causes more than one in four cancer deaths); cut down on booze (alcohol increases your chance of mouth, breast and several other cancers); lose weight (more than 4% of cancers could be avoided in Britain if no one exceeded a body mass index of 25). However, research is advancing all the time. Here are five less well-known anti-cancer strategies:

1 Regularly eat broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage: researchers recently discovered that naturally occurring chemicals found in these vegetables can enhance DNA repair in cells. This could help stop them becoming cancerous.

2 Get a good night's sleep: a US study in 2002 involving 1.1 million participants found that people who get around seven hours' sleep a night are less likely to die of cancer (and other causes) than those who sleep less or more than this each night. More research is needed to establish exactly why this is, but aiming for seven hours a night certainly won't hurt.

3 Get some exercise: the evidence that exercise has cancer-fighting effects is growing rapidly. Recent studies show that the more active you are, the lower your risk of colon and probably breast cancer (the biggest killers after lung cancer), regardless of your body weight.

Large recent studies, for instance, show that regular physical activity can reduce your risk of colon cancer by 25% to 40%. This is partly because exercise helps your bowels work more efficiently.

A few hours of vigorous activity a week - rather than none - could also reduce your risk of breast cancer (by 30 to 40%), possibly in part because exercise affects your hormones. The more vigorous the exercise, the greater the protection.

4 Cut down on saturated fat: a major study - the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition - looked at the dietary habits of more than 500,000 people across Europe over 10 years. Researchers looking at 13,000 women in this study found that cutting saturated fat (such as in full-fat dairy products and processed food) could as much as halve your risk of breast cancer.

In the study, women with the most saturated fat (more than 90g a day) in their diet had twice the risk of developing breast cancer as those who ate the least (less than 40g a day).

5 Cut down on red meat: the same study also found fresh evidence to link eating red and processed meat with bowel cancer. Bowel cancer risk was a third higher for those who regularly ate at least 160g of red or processed meat a day, compared to less than 20g a day.

Protect Our Computer from Virus

Unfortunately for us, there are many people out there who get a rise out of writing small programs that find ways onto our computers and in most cases destroy personal file, data or steal out identity. This article explains some steps we can take to defend ourselves.

What is a computer virus?

A computer virus is a small program that piggybacks on legitimate programs. It is called a virus because it shares the traits of a biological virus where is passes from one computer to another in the same manner a biological virus passes from one person to another person. Once a computer virus is running, it can infect other programs and documents.

Types of computer viruses:

There are many types of viruses but the most common are:

- Viruses: a small software program that attaches itself to other programs and/or documents
- E-mail viruses: these viruses move around through email and usually replicates itself by automatically mailing itself to people in the victim's address book
- Trojan horses: this is a computer program that claims to do one thing but instead does another such as erase your hard drive
- Worms: this is a program that finds a small hole in computer network security and replicates itself on to other computers on that network.

How does a virus get into our computer and how do they spread?

Some of the most common ways a virus can get on your computer are:

- Downloading a program from an unknown source and running it
- Opening a file attachment from an e-mail
- Sharing infected files from one computer to another on a floppy disk
- Opening an electronic greeting card, audio and video files

What are the signs of a virus, am I infected?

- Your computer runs slower than normal
- The computer stops or locks up
- Your computer crashes and restart every few minutes
- The computer restarts on its own and does not run properly
- Applications on your computer do not run properly
- Hard drives or disk are not accessible
- Your computer cannot print properly
- Unusual error messages appear
- Menus and dialog boxes are distorted

What kinds of damage can a virus do?

The damage a computer virus can do depends on the type of virus it is. Here are some common threats.

- They can delete or change files. Some viruses will delete all your files or even reformat your hard drive making your computer unusable
- Other viruses will steal personal information like credit card numbers, account numbers and passwords
- Some viruses will slow down your computer dramatically
- Some viruses change security settings allowing hackers to gain access to your computer and steal information
- Other viruses like worms infect computers on a network

What you can do to protect your computer from viruses?

There are number of ways to protect your computer from a virus:
- Do not open any attachments your received in an e-mail even if you know the person who sent it. That person may not be aware they are sending an infected files.
- If you receive an e-mail with an attachment from some one your do not know, DELETE the e-mail right away.
- Before you copy a file to your computer, scan it with an anti-virus program
- If you download a file from the Internet, copy it to your hard drive first, scan it with an anti-virus program before to open the file or run it.
- if some sends you a greeting card or a joke that you have to launch to view, be awry and stay on the safe side and do not open it
- The best defense against computer viruses and to use an anti-virus program that will scan your e-mail, act as a firewall, hard drive and keep up-to-date with the latest viruses. It is reported that there are over 500 new viruses discovered each month.

Fortunately for us, there are a number of software programs available to prevent, detect and kill computer viruses. I recommend the one below, I use it and it is one of the most popular anti-virus programs around.

How to take care with rose

Plant breeders have given us roses that grow well under difficult conditions and bloom almost continuously from early summer to frost. Proper plant nutrition is easy and simple to provide with the use complete plant food that supplies all the vital elements needed from the soil. Insect and disease problems can be prevented easily with regular use of insecticide-fungicide that controls most chewing insects, sucking insects, and fungus diseases. With these aids, you can grow roses successfully.
{short description of image}

GOOD STOCK: Buy good plants, preferably No. 1, two years old, field grown and budded plants. Plants that are not pruned should have 3 or more heavy 18-inch canes. Pruned plants should have canes with a diameter of at least 1/4 inch at the top. Plants potted in tar paper pots are preferred by many gardeners since they can be transplanted most any time of the year.
{short description of image}

PLANTING: Select a sunny, well-drained location. Trim off all broken and bruised roots, cut top growth back to 6 to 8 inches. Dig planting holes at least 6 inches deeper than needed for the plant roots. Make holes large enough to accommodate roots without crowding or bending. Place a handful of small rocks or pebbles in the bottom of holes to facilitate drainage. Mix 1 tablespoonful of fertilizer with the soil placed over the drainage material. Cover this mixture with plain soil, bringing the level to desired planting depth. Make a mound in the center to receive plant. Set plant roots over this mound, spread roots, and fill in with soil. Firm the soil tightly 2 or 3 times while filling the hole.
{short description of image}

FEEDING: Hybrid Tea, Polyantha, Floribunda Types: The first feeding should come in early spring as soon as leaf buds begin to swell. Clear away mulch and work plant food into soil around the plant. Use 1 rounded tablespoonful of fertilizer per plant (or 1 pound per 25 square feet of bed area). Second feeding should be made at the same rate and immediately following the first heavy bloom. Third feeding, also at same rate, should be made in late summer ... northern areas not later than August 15. In soutern areas, where blooming extends into October and November, a fourth feeding should be made about the first of October. Many growers follow a regular monthly feeding program during the growing season with good results.

Tea Roses: Use one half of the above amounts, applying in a similar manner and at the same times.

Hybrid Perpetual, Climbing, Shrub Roses: Feed 1 rounded tablespoonful of fertilizer to each square foot of space around the bush in early spring. Feed again when blooms start to appear. In both cases work the fertilizer lightly into the soil to within 4 inches of the plant.
{short description of image}

SUMMER CARE: The cultural practices differ but little in various sections of the country, with exception of timing of operations that depend upon climate. Artificial watering may be necessary if summer rainfall is insufficient. If soil is well drained, there is not much danger of overwatering. When watering, soak the soil to a depth of 6 to 8 inches ... do not merely sprinkle. CULTIVATION is necessary to eliminate weeds and keep soil loose. Deep cultivation in midsummer is harmful when the roots are close to the surface. MULCHING during the summer will eliminate weeds, necessity of cultivation, and reduce moisture evaporation. Mulches should be applied 2 or 3 weeks before roses come into bloom.
{short description of image}

DISEASES AND PESTS: Black-spot, mildew, and blight together with insects, such as aphids, thrips, and red spider, are some of the more troublesome rose disease and insect problems. Control is easy and prevention is practical with the regular use of chemicals, that controls most fungus diseases and chewing and sucking insects. Regular dusting every week or 10 days will make the disease-insect problem easy to handle.
{short description of image}

PRUNING: Bush type roses should be pruned in the early spring when the leaf buds begin to swell, but before growth starts. Follow these basic principles:

1. Remove all wood killed or injured during the winter, cutting back to solid tissue.
2. Remove all weak, twiggy growth.
3. Shape plants by cutting strong canes back to -a uniform height, removing as little healthy wood as possible. Remove very old canes by cutting off at the ground level.
4. Cut ordinary hybrid varieties back to about 18 to 24 inches. Ramblers should be pruned after blooming by removing old unwanted canes at the base.

{short description of image}

WINTER PROTECTION: It's not extreme cold that kills roses but rather the frequent alternate freezing and thawing that heaves the plant, thus breaking the roots. The winter sun and dry winds take moisture away from the canes and make winter injury more of a problem. Winter mulching with straw, peat moss, or other material is advisable in all but the extreme southern sections of the United States. This mulch regulates the soil temperature and tempers the effects of freezing and thawing. Pull soil up around each plant to a height of about 6 inches after the first frost, then after the ground is frozen r mulch.

benefit of Banana

Bananas... This is very interesting.

After Reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again -

Bananas. Containing three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana.

This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:

High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:

This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure.

So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:

200 students at aTwickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:

High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:

One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and

re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:

Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:

Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood

sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:

Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:

Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work?

Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:

The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders

because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also

neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:

Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder

(SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking:

Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking.

The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:

Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat,

sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:

According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine,

"eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by

strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:

Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off

a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the

yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.

It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.

So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say,

"A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

What is Wine?

Windows and Linux

Different software programs are designed for different operating systems, and most won't work on systems that they weren't designed for. Windows programs, for example, won't run in Linux because they contain instructions that the system can't understand until they're translated by the Windows environment. Linux programs, likewise, won't run under the Windows operating system because Windows is unable to interpret all of their instructions.

This situation presents a fundamental problem for anyone who wants to run software for both Windows and Linux. A common solution to this problem is to install both operating systems on the same computer, known as "dual booting." When a Windows program is needed, the user boots the machine into Windows to run it; when a Linux program is then needed, the user then reboots the machine into Linux. This option presents great difficulty: not only must the user endure the frustration of frequent rebooting, but programs for both platforms can't be run simultaneously. Having Windows on a system also creates an added burden: the software is expensive, requires a separate disk partition, and is unable to read most filesystem formats, making the sharing of data between operating systems difficult.

What is Wine, and how can it help me?

Wine makes it possible to run Windows programs alongside any Unix-like operating system, particularly Linux. At its heart, Wine is an implementation of the Windows Application Programing Interface (API) library, acting as a bridge between the Windows program and Linux. Think of Wine as a compatibility layer, when a Windows program tries to perform a function that Linux doesn't normally understand, Wine will translate that program's instruction into one supported by the system. For example, if a program asks the system to create a Windows pushbutton or text-edit field, Wine will convert that instruction into its Linux equivalent in the form of a command to the window manager using the standard X11 protocol.

If you have access to the Windows program's source code, Wine can also be used to recompile a program into a format that Linux can understand more easily. Wine is still needed to launch the program in its recompiled form, however there are many advantages to compiling a Windows program natively within Linux. For more information, see the Winelib User Guide.

Wine features

Throughout the course of its development, Wine has continually grown in the features it carries and the programs it can run. A partial list of these features follows:

  • Support for running Win32 (Win 95/98, NT/2000/XP), Win16 (Win 3.1) and DOS programs

  • Optional use of external vendor DLL files (such as those included with Windows)

  • X11-based graphics display, allowing remote display to any X terminal, as well as a text mode console

  • Desktop-in-a-box or mixable windows

  • DirectX support for games

  • Good support for various sound drivers including OSS and ALSA

  • Support for alternative input devices

  • Printing: PostScript interface driver (psdrv) to standard Unix PostScript print services

  • Modem, serial device support

  • Winsock TCP/IP networking support

  • ASPI interface (SCSI) support for scanners, CD writers, and other devices

  • Advanced unicode and foreign language support

  • Full-featured Wine debugger and configurable trace logging messages for easier troubleshooting

Rain effect in photoshop

you want to make rain effect to your photo in photoshop?, it's very easy...
Lets follow the instruction….

Add drama to your photos with this photo-realistic rain effect. In this Photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to combine several Photoshop filters to add rain to your photo.

Rain Photoshop Tutorial

The Process with Photoshop
First, a new layer is created for the rain texture. To create the rain texture, we use the Noise filter to add random noise to the image. Then, the noise is blurred with a motion blur. If the photo is a high resolution image, the rain is thickened and blurred to make it look natural. Finally, the rain texture is tweaked for it's density and visibility.

Rain Photoshop Tutorial
Step 1
Open a photo into Photoshop. This is the image that will be used for this tutorial:

Step 2
To begin, create a new layer (Layer> New> Layer) and change blending mode of the new layer to Screen. This new layer is where we will create the rain texture.

Step 3
With the new layer selected, press Ctrl+F5 to open the Fill tool or open the Edit menu and select Fill. In the Fill tool, select 50% Gray from the drop down menu and click OK.

Step 4
Open the Filter> Noise menu and select Add Noise. In the Add Noise tool, leave the default settings, check the Monochromatic option, and click OK.

How to Make Windows XP Startup Faster

I guess sometimes you get frustrated while you wait around for your Windows XP startup.
It because Windows XP will automatically load any program at startup. This article will show you how to speed up the bootup process of your PC by removing the programs that bog it down.

* Click Start->Run.
* enter msconfig and click "OK".
* This will start the system configuration utility. (Remember: If you disable the necessary applications from the msconfig, the computer may not start properly. Hence, while using msconfig, keep a note of the applications which you want to uncheck to start while computer starts.)
* Click on the "Startup" tab. You will see a list of all the startup programs that get loaded automatically when you startup your computer. The more items you have checked to startup, the longer it takes for your computer to startup.
* Uncheck the programs that you don’t want to start up and click "Ok".
* Restart your computer and you should notice that it starts up quicker.

Modify theme

VistaMizer modifies your system files, so that when you reboot after installing VistaMizer, you won’t even remember how your old desktop looked like.

With VistaMizer you are now able to transform your Windows XP, MCE or Server 2003 by giving it the look of Windows Vista. Therefore over 380 files with new Icons, pictures as well as videos are modified.

This means that VistaMizer does not provide own files and change your system files. That has the advantage that VistaMizer works with each language and no changes of the language specifics are made.

The installer is so developed that you have completely the change which will be modified and which not. Even

if you select files, which are possibly not at all on your system available or not compatible, the application recognizes this and jumps over these. This ensures that the system does not become unstable because of wrong modification.

After updates if your system data are overwritten, then a renewal of these is possible by using an extra program that is linked by the VistaMizer. The application examines thereby, which files are updated and re-modify only these. This means a very fast re-modification and it is always the current data in the Backup.

However if the result of the installation should not assure to you, you have the possibility to get back the old system by an un-installation. If newer files are already present in the system by updates, this is recognized by the un-installer and only the modified files will be replaced.

Here are some key features of “VistaMizer”:

· Vista-Look for Windows XP, MCE or Server 2003

· Modification of the own system files

· multilingual

· completely free choice for the modification files

· check the files for compatibility during the installation

· backup from the original system files

· re-modification of the system files after Windows Updates

· rebuilding of the original system files with un-installation

Benefit of Mango for Health

Mangoes are full packed with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants and contain like all fruits very few proteins, fats and calories.

mangoes are perfect to replenish salts, vitamins and energy after physical exercise.

The famous Unani physician Hakeen Hashmi teaches that mangoes strengthens and invigorates the nerve tissues in muscles, heart and brain and other parts of the body.

The enzymes of the Mango, such as magneferin, katechol oxidase and lactase, clean the bowel of the "filth" within and are an ideal antidote for all toxic effects inside the body. They provide also sufficient resistance to fight any germs and afflictions.

Hartwell claims in his book "Plants Against Cancer," that the phenols in mangoes, such as quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat, as well as the abundant enzymes, have healing and cancer-preventing capacities. In gall bladder cancer a protective effect of mango consume has been proven (Pandey).

Mangos contain also a lot of tryptophan, the precursor of the "happiness-hormone" serotonin.

A pap made of Finger millet (Eleusine coracana), kidney beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), peanuts (Arachis hypogoea), and mango (Mangifera indica) has been proven to be a good complementary food for children of weaning age. It meets the vitamin and energy requirements of children of 6-24 months of age at three servings a day and at the FAO average breast-feeding frequency (Mbithi-Mwikya)

Mangiferin from the leaves has been reported to possess antiinflammatory, diuretic, chloretic and cardiotonic activities and displays a high antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria. It has been recommended as a drug in preventing dental plaques.

Mangiferin shows antiviral effect against type I herpes simplex virus which could be useful in anti-herpes ointments (Unani Herbalist).

The bark of the mango tree contains 16 - 20% tannin and also mangiferine. It acts ad stringent and is believed to possess a tonic action on the mucous membrane. It is anathematic, useful in hemoptysis, hemorrhage, nasal catarrh, diarrhea, ulcers, diphtheria, rheumatism and for lumbrici. It is also used in diphtheria and rheumatism (Unani Herbalist).

The average content of one Mango (250 g) is (compared with other fruits):

1,5 g protein

1 g fat

30 g carbohydrates

3 g carotenes (only muskmelons have more). One Mango supplies more than the daily need of this precursor of Vitamin A

110 g vitamin B1

125 g vitamin B2 (only passion-fruit has more)

2 mg vitamin B3 (only passion-fruit and guava have more)

90 ?g folic acid (only oranges and grapes have more)

90 mg vitamin C (only orange and papaya have more)

30 mg calcium (only mandarine and orange have more)

45 mg magnesium (only papaya and banana have more)

1 mg iron (granadilla, grapes, banana, guava and apricots have more)

295g zinc (muskmelon, watermelon, papaya, guava, granadilla and bananas have more)

0,5 g potassium (muskmelon, granadilla and banana have more)

Vitamin A deficiency

The FAO estimates, that about 250 Million people - mainly small children and pregnant women - are threatened by vitamin A deficiency. Lack of vitamin A is associated with malnutrition and leads to break down of body defense and partial or full blindness (Xerophthalmia). Dysenteria or measles complications and mortality decreases significantly when vitamin A is given. The WHO advices the supply of vitamin A in every case of measles.

Vitamin A plays an important role in the development of the placenta and the fetus. It influences the growth, the metabolism of skin, mucus membranes, teeth and retina.

Mango is an excellent natural source for pro-vitamin A; the content rises even after being picked before ripening (Aina). Improving the consumption of mangoes would cover the needs of the population in third world countries (Favaro). The content of carotenes is very high also in the dried fruit, and retains high levels over at least six months after harvest (Pott).

The FAO and the WHO use three strategies to fight lack of Vitamin A:

Food fortification - e.g. margarine containing vitamin A in the Philippines

Supplementation: Administration of high-dose vitamin A-capsules twice a year

Food based projects - e.g. in Bangladesh (vines, beans, pumpkins, bottle-gourds), in Thailand (ivy gourd) an in many African countries (dried mango slices).

Carotenes are a strong antioxidants and scavenges radicals which otherwise could lead to cancer.

Anemia from lack of iron

The vitamin C in the mango enhances the absorption of iron from vegetable food like e.g. rice, and so prevents anemia in vegetarians (Ballot)

The following mango remedies are partially adopted from the Unani medicine system:

Beauty Aids

Taking Mango regularly makes the complexion fair and the skin soft and shining

Bleeding

Because of it's content in Vitamin C and Calcium the Mango tightens the capillary vessels and prevents oder cures bleedings of inner parts.

Burns

Burnt ashes of Mango leaves applied on the burnt parts give quick relief

Children's eating soil

Feeding the powder of dried kernel of Mango seeds with fresh water cures the habit of eating soil in kinds

Diarrhea

Sun dried Mango leaves powdered, 2-3 x a day half a teaspoon with water

Dry cough

Roast a ripe Mango on hot sand in a pan. Draw out the the juice of this Mango eliminates all the bronchial congestion and gives relief in cough. According to Hakeem Hashmi sucking the juice and not eating cut mangos is better for health and some note of caution about Mango eating

Fever

Paste of Mango roots applied on palms & soles cures fever

Gall & Kidney Stones

Dried and powdered Mango leaves, 10g a day in water (kept overnight in a tumbler) helps throwing stones out

Gastritis

In India a decoction of the mango peel is given to people with inflammation of the stomach mucus membranes.

Mental Weakness over come with mango juice

Mango contains a lot of glutamine acid - an important protein for concentration and memory. Taking _ cup sweet Mango juice with 25 grams curd and tsp. Ginger juice 2 or 3 times a day controls loose motions. Boil 20 grams powder of Mango bark in a liter of water and reduce it to 250 gram. Taking this decoction with 1 gram of black salt cures diarrhea.

Pregnancy

A pregnant woman should eat at least one mango a day - the calcium and magnesium of the mango relaxes the muscles, relieves stress and prevents abortion.

Teeth Problems

Dried Mango seeds is a good toothpaste, strengthens the gums and helps in curing dental problems foul smell pyorrhoea

Some say that the fruit which Eva picked from the tree of recognition was a mango. Couldn't it be like that?

Stop Smoking

are you want to quit smoking? are you ever to try stop smoking, but you can't?

Don't plan on it, and don't despair.

Recent research finds that a snap decision to quit smoking cigarettes is actually two to three times more effective than planning ahead for the big day.

Some smokers want to quit, but lack the motivation. Others have tried and failed. The trick, according to Robert West of University College London, is to let the motivation build ("This costs too much money," "I don't want to smoke around the kids," "I'm afraid of cancer" and so on) and then seize the day when a trigger to put down cigarettes suddenly emerges.

"It very much goes against conventional wisdom in the field," West told LiveScience.

His research is based on interviews with 1,900 smokers and ex-smokers in England. He found that half of attempts to stop smoking involved no planning ahead and that unplanned attempts succeed for longer than planned attempts.

Sick and tired

About 23 percent of Americans smoke (the figure is 25 percent in England) despite the fact that quitting smoking extends life expectancy by up to 10 years.

Effective triggers to quit can be small, in West's view, such as just being sick and tired of being sick and tired from smoking. Or large, such as a physician's delivery of news of precancerous cell growth or high cholesterol.

Many experts have thought that the stopping occurs in stages that start with thinking about stopping, then planning an attempt to actually try to quit.

West's research found that unplanned attempts to quit succeeded even after adjusting for study variables such as age, sex and socioeconomics. Quitting is not a cost-benefit game in the minds of smokers, he says. "It depends on how people feel and that is a whole different ballgame."

West's work suggests a tipping-point approach to anti-smoking campaigns. He says public health workers should capitalize on smokers' latent desire to quit by putting the idea of quitting in their minds, raising smokers' motivational tension momentarily to a level that can overcome their resistance to quitting and then lowering the barriers to action—such as helping them to think, "Why not quit?".

(West's smoking research led him to write a recently published theoretical book on motivation and addiction.)

West also encourages the use of nicotine patches and other treatment and counseling to help quitters stay in remission. Recent research by Lawrence An of the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center shows that smokers who receive encouragement via telephone counseling sessions are more successful at quitting smoking than those who do not.

The surgical approach

Surgery is also an effective trigger to quitting, other research shows. In fact, surgery is often one's best chance to quit smoking for good, according to David Warner of the Mayo Clinic.

Doctors have long known that nonsmokers and recent quitters recover better from surgery than smokers.

Warner's review of research also shows that patients who stop smoking prior to surgery have better success withdrawing from cigarettes.

"For people who have thought about quitting smoking, the time of their surgery is a good opportunity to do so," Warner said. The anesthesia used during surgery and recovery probably helps with the nicotine withdrawal and other discomforts associated with quitting.

"This increases the chance for long-term success with smoking cessation," Warner said.

It's still unclear if kicking the cigarette habit is within reach for everyone. Some smokers try to quit hundreds of time and never succeed for very long.

"However, we cannot say whether that is because the conditions for stopping were not right for them," West said, "and whether under different circumstances they might have succeeded."
